Pillow Nightstand — Austins Pillow Nightstand - Austins

The meeting of flawless gloss lacquer and unpredictable marble veining — where the manufactured and the natural find a perfect, patient agreement.

I wanted to make a nightstand that felt completely resolved — where every design decision was inevitable. The rounded corners are there because a rectangular piece would have been too clinical beside a bed. The marble top is there because no amount of lacquer can replicate the depth of real stone. The matte black knobs are there because they hold their own against both the white and the marble without competing. When those three things come together in the right proportions, you stop thinking about them — the piece just feels right.

The Making of the Pillow Nightstand

Designed by Harsha

Achieving the consistent radius on the vertical pill-edges requires CNC precision that our Bangalore workshop has invested in specifically for pieces like this. The marble slab integration is handled by our stone fabrication partner before the piece is assembled — two crafts brought together at the final stage to create one object.

01

Dark Marble Top

A natural stone slab in dark grey with white veining — each piece unique, the veining unrepeatable, the depth of colour impossible to manufacture.

02

Pill-Shaped Edges

The vertical corners are rounded with a consistent radius — a small detail that makes the piece feel resolved and gentle beside a bed.

03

Floating Silhouette

A recessed dark plinth replaces legs entirely, giving the body a clean floating appearance that keeps the floor line uninterrupted.

Frequently Asked

Before You Order

How long does it take to make the Pillow Nightstand?
6–8 weeks from order confirmation. We build one piece at a time — frame first, then upholstery, then a final hand-finish — so the timeline reflects real bench-time, not warehouse stock.
Can I customise the dimensions, leather, or wood?
Yes. Almost every dimension can be adjusted within structural limits, and the leather and wood swatches shown are starting points — speak to a designer if you'd like us to source something specific.
How does delivery work, and where do you ship?
We deliver across India with white-glove placement included. International shipping is available on request — our team will coordinate freight, customs, and last-mile placement at the destination.
What does payment look like for a custom piece?
A 50% deposit confirms the order and reserves your build slot in the atelier. The balance is due before dispatch. We'll share a transparent quote with material and labour breakdown after the consultation.
What if something needs repair years from now?
Every piece carries a lifetime craftsmanship guarantee. Reupholstery, refinishing, and frame repair are handled in-house — a piece built today can be brought back to the workshop a decade from now and restored.
