Most dressers are entirely forgettable. I wanted this one to stop you when you walk into the bedroom. The stone top was the answer — natural material, warm and irregular, sitting on a crisp white lacquered body. The contrast between the precision of the painted finish and the unpredictability of the stone is intentional. You cannot get that from a catalogue piece.
The Making of the Pietra Dresser

The white lacquered body is built from solid wood or quality MDF with a flat-panel drawer construction — simplicity that demands precision, as any surface irregularity reads through the lacquer. The stone or mosaic inlay top is set into the frame and levelled by hand, a critical fit-out stage where the material junction between stone and wood body must be flush and tight across its full perimeter.
Natural Stone or Mosaic Inlay Top
Whether travertine, agate, or hand-set mosaic tile, the decorative top is sourced for its warm terracotta and cream colour palette — a natural surface whose variation and warmth cannot be replicated by any paint or laminate. ::
Flush Stone-to-Body Setting
The stone top must be levelled and set flush to the wood body frame with no proud edge or gap at the perimeter — a precision fitting stage where the material junction is sealed and finished by hand. ::
Clean Lacquered Drawer Body
The white lacquer on flat-panel drawer fronts makes every surface irregularity visible — the body is built to tight joinery tolerances and sanded progressively before lacquering to achieve the clean, consistent finish the design demands. ::
