Cannello Nightstand — Austins Cannello Nightstand – Austins

Bedside storage reimagined as a 360° sculpture — fluted white lacquer, polished brass, and a circular form that commands its corner.

Most nightstands are rectangular afterthoughts. I wanted this piece to be something you notice when you walk into the bedroom — a circular form that has presence from every angle. The vertical fluting wraps the full circumference, so there is no flat, blank face to look at. The brass legs are disproportionately slender on purpose: they make the drum body feel like it is floating, like it is being presented to you rather than just sitting there. That tension between the generous drum and the delicate legs is the piece's entire personality.

The Making of the Cannello Nightstand

Designed by Harsha

Routing continuous vertical flutes around a curved drum form is a precision exercise — each channel must be consistent in depth and spacing as it travels the circumference. In our Bangalore atelier, this kind of exacting mill-work is applied to every piece in the range, because we believe that the most-used surfaces deserve the most-careful craft.

01

Fluted Circumference

Vertical ribbing runs the full 360° of the drum body — each groove casting a fine shadow line that deepens or lightens with the room's changing light.

02

Polished Brass

Round brass knob pulls, a top rim band, and four leg posts — each element in warm polished brass, consistent and considered.

03

The Circular Drum

A circular footprint means no dead angle; this nightstand reads beautifully from bed, from doorway, from across the room.

Frequently Asked

Before You Order

How long does it take to make the Cannello Nightstand?
6–8 weeks from order confirmation. We build one piece at a time — frame first, then upholstery, then a final hand-finish — so the timeline reflects real bench-time, not warehouse stock.
Can I customise the dimensions, leather, or wood?
Yes. Almost every dimension can be adjusted within structural limits, and the leather and wood swatches shown are starting points — speak to a designer if you'd like us to source something specific.
How does delivery work, and where do you ship?
We deliver across India with white-glove placement included. International shipping is available on request — our team will coordinate freight, customs, and last-mile placement at the destination.
What does payment look like for a custom piece?
A 50% deposit confirms the order and reserves your build slot in the atelier. The balance is due before dispatch. We'll share a transparent quote with material and labour breakdown after the consultation.
What if something needs repair years from now?
Every piece carries a lifetime craftsmanship guarantee. Reupholstery, refinishing, and frame repair are handled in-house — a piece built today can be brought back to the workshop a decade from now and restored.
