Circolo Bar Stool — Austins Circolo Bar Stool – Austins

Four turned legs. One circular footrest ring. A swivel seat with nailhead trim. The Swivel Bar Stool is heritage bar craft made for Bangalore hands.

The circular footrest ring is what makes this stool read as a complete piece rather than just a tall chair — it creates a strong graphic horizontal that anchors the four legs, and it's the first thing your foot finds when you sit down. Setting nailhead trim in an even row around a circular seat edge is a test of hand precision: the tacks must be equally spaced around a curve with no ruler to follow. Our craftspeople lay them by eye and feel. That's the difference between craft furniture and manufactured furniture.

The Making of the Circolo Bar Stool

Designed by Harsha

In our Bangalore workshop, the Swivel Bar Stool begins on the lathe — four walnut legs turned with multiple ring profiles before the splayed frame is assembled. The circular footrest ring is bent, joined, and fitted to the legs. Our upholsterers then cut the round seat pad, wrap it in cream fabric, and set each nailhead tack individually around the circumference before the swivel mechanism is mounted beneath.

01

The Walnut Frame

Solid walnut or sheesham — warm reddish-brown with fine grain — turned to multiple ring profiles on each leg, a material chosen for density and lathe character. ::

02

The Nailhead Circle

Individual dome-head nailheads placed by hand at even intervals around the circular seat edge — no template, only eye and craft judgment to maintain the rhythm around the curve. ::

03

The Footrest Ring

A circular stretcher ring at mid-leg height — bent and joined in a continuous arc, connecting all four legs at the point where the foot naturally rests and the design's strongest horizontal falls.

Frequently Asked

Before You Order

How long does it take to make the Circolo Bar Stool?
6–8 weeks from order confirmation. We build one piece at a time — frame first, then upholstery, then a final hand-finish — so the timeline reflects real bench-time, not warehouse stock.
Can I customise the dimensions, leather, or wood?
Yes. Almost every dimension can be adjusted within structural limits, and the leather and wood swatches shown are starting points — speak to a designer if you'd like us to source something specific.
How does delivery work, and where do you ship?
We deliver across India with white-glove placement included. International shipping is available on request — our team will coordinate freight, customs, and last-mile placement at the destination.
What does payment look like for a custom piece?
A 50% deposit confirms the order and reserves your build slot in the atelier. The balance is due before dispatch. We'll share a transparent quote with material and labour breakdown after the consultation.
What if something needs repair years from now?
Every piece carries a lifetime craftsmanship guarantee. Reupholstery, refinishing, and frame repair are handled in-house — a piece built today can be brought back to the workshop a decade from now and restored.
