Chesterfield button-tufting is a traditional hand-finishing technique; individual buttons are set and the diamond grid is maintained across the full curved barrel back — from the seat rail to the arched crown, every button placed by hand. ::

The barrel-back curve requires precision foam shaping to achieve a smooth, consistent arc across the full three-seat width — any flat spot or variation in the curve reads immediately through the upholstered surface.
