Salvia Ottoman — Austins Salvia Ottoman - Austins

Full diamond tufting in sage velvet. A rose-gold ring below. The Small Green Ottoman is proof that luxury scales beautifully to a footstool.

The tufting on a rounded-square form is more demanding at the corners — the buttons need to travel a greater effective distance as they approach the curve, and maintaining even grid geometry at the edges requires the upholsterer to adjust tension point by point. The rose-gold base ring was chosen specifically because of its temperature relationship with the sage: the warmth of rose-gold against a cool sage-grey-green creates a chromatic tension that makes both colours feel more precise. These are small things that make the difference between furniture and an object you want to touch.

The Making of the Salvia Ottoman

Designed by Harsha

In our Bangalore atelier, every button on the Small Green Ottoman is hand-threaded and pulled through dense foam and sage velvet to a consistent depth — the tufted grid maintained to a diagonal diamond alignment across the full rounded-square surface. The rose-gold metal base ring is fitted last, its warm metallic band the final element that transforms a well-made pouf into a considered room object.

The Sage Velvet

Duck-egg sage velvet with directional pile — the colour shifts between grey-green and teal-green as light and viewpoint change, a material that creates visual life without pattern. ::

02

The Diamond Tuft

Each button is hand-threaded and pulled through foam and fabric layers to consistent depth — the diagonal grid maintained edge-to-edge including around the rounded corners. ::

The Rose-Gold Ring

A low circular metal base in polished rose-gold supports the ottoman body at floor level — warm pink-gold against cool sage, the piece's deliberate chromatic tension point.

Frequently Asked

Before You Order

How long does it take to make the Salvia Ottoman?
6–8 weeks from order confirmation. We build one piece at a time — frame first, then upholstery, then a final hand-finish — so the timeline reflects real bench-time, not warehouse stock.
Can I customise the dimensions, leather, or wood?
Yes. Almost every dimension can be adjusted within structural limits, and the leather and wood swatches shown are starting points — speak to a designer if you'd like us to source something specific.
How does delivery work, and where do you ship?
We deliver across India with white-glove placement included. International shipping is available on request — our team will coordinate freight, customs, and last-mile placement at the destination.
What does payment look like for a custom piece?
A 50% deposit confirms the order and reserves your build slot in the atelier. The balance is due before dispatch. We'll share a transparent quote with material and labour breakdown after the consultation.
What if something needs repair years from now?
Every piece carries a lifetime craftsmanship guarantee. Reupholstery, refinishing, and frame repair are handled in-house — a piece built today can be brought back to the workshop a decade from now and restored.
