Chester Chair — Austins Chester Chair – Austins

Button by button, it earns its room.

"The Chester was made with a clear intent: to give someone the feeling of sitting in a room that has been considered. The deep red and the gold legs were chosen together — they need each other. The button tufting on the high back is hand-applied diamond by diamond; every one must align or the chair loses its authority."

The Making of the Chester Chair

Designed by Harsha

The Chester was built for the room that wants one truly spectacular chair. Its Chesterfield-tufted back in deep burgundy and ornate gold legs are a deliberate excess — the kind that makes a room feel finished.

01

Deep Red Leather

Rich burgundy leather over a high button-tufted back — the deep red must conform to the tufted geometry without wrinkling at any transition point. Consistent dyeing across all panels is a baseline craft requirement. ::

02

Diamond Button Tufting

Each button is individually hand-set through foam and leather to maintain a precise diamond grid alignment across the full curved back surface. At this scale, the grid must hold from top to base without drift. ::

03

Ornate Gold Legs

Precision-crafted gold curved legs — the curvature and antique brass finish require careful manufacturing to achieve the ornate elegance that gives the Chester its royal character.

Frequently Asked

Before You Order

How long does it take to make the Chester Chair?
6–8 weeks from order confirmation. We build one piece at a time — frame first, then upholstery, then a final hand-finish — so the timeline reflects real bench-time, not warehouse stock.
Can I customise the dimensions, leather, or wood?
Yes. Almost every dimension can be adjusted within structural limits, and the leather and wood swatches shown are starting points — speak to a designer if you'd like us to source something specific.
How does delivery work, and where do you ship?
We deliver across India with white-glove placement included. International shipping is available on request — our team will coordinate freight, customs, and last-mile placement at the destination.
What does payment look like for a custom piece?
A 50% deposit confirms the order and reserves your build slot in the atelier. The balance is due before dispatch. We'll share a transparent quote with material and labour breakdown after the consultation.
What if something needs repair years from now?
Every piece carries a lifetime craftsmanship guarantee. Reupholstery, refinishing, and frame repair are handled in-house — a piece built today can be brought back to the workshop a decade from now and restored.
