Rovere Dining Table — Austins Rovere Dining Table - Austins

A 10-seater dining table built on twin staved pedestal bases — each stave precision-bevelled to form a true cylinder, hand-assembled in our Bangalore atelier.

Most large dining tables solve the structure problem with four legs and call it done. I wanted a base that felt architectural — something borrowed from the coopers who build barrels, where each stave must be cut at a precise bevel to form a perfect circle. The result is a pedestal that looks sculpted rather than constructed. The table earns its size.

The Making of the Rovere Dining Table

Designed by Harsha

Each pedestal is built from 8 to 12 solid timber staves, each bevel-cut to a precise angle so the assembled cylinder is geometrically true. The grain-matched tabletop planks are laid in sequence from the same timber batch. Chamfered top edges are hand-finished, and the pedestal-to-top connection is clean and flush.

01

Grain-Matched Solid Timber

The tabletop planks and pedestal staves are selected from the same timber batch — matching honey-amber tone and grain direction across a table this large is a deliberate quality decision that signals thoughtful sourcing. ::

02

Cooperage-Inspired Stave Joinery

Each pedestal stave is bevel-cut at a precise angle — as in traditional barrel-making — so the assembled cylinder is geometrically true without gaps or proud edges. This is a joinery discipline rarely applied to furniture. ::

03

Double-Pedestal Load Distribution

Two wide cylindrical bases distribute load across the table's length without the clutter of four or six legs — giving every diner generous knee clearance and a clear sightline to their neighbours. ::

Frequently Asked

Before You Order

How long does it take to make the Rovere Dining Table?
8–10 weeks from order confirmation. We build one piece at a time — frame first, then upholstery, then a final hand-finish — so the timeline reflects real bench-time, not warehouse stock.
Can I customise the dimensions, leather, or wood?
Yes. Almost every dimension can be adjusted within structural limits, and the leather and wood swatches shown are starting points — speak to a designer if you'd like us to source something specific.
How does delivery work, and where do you ship?
We deliver across India with white-glove placement included. International shipping is available on request — our team will coordinate freight, customs, and last-mile placement at the destination.
What does payment look like for a custom piece?
A 50% deposit confirms the order and reserves your build slot in the atelier. The balance is due before dispatch. We'll share a transparent quote with material and labour breakdown after the consultation.
What if something needs repair years from now?
Every piece carries a lifetime craftsmanship guarantee. Reupholstery, refinishing, and frame repair are handled in-house — a piece built today can be brought back to the workshop a decade from now and restored.
