The brief was to make a side table that you would buy for its base, not its top. The top is intentionally simple — a clean circle of polished walnut, nothing more. The base carries all the design intelligence: the stacked disc sections create deep shadow gaps between each layer that shift dramatically as the light changes through the day. The proportions were carefully calibrated so the table's visual centre of gravity sits mid-height, which is unusual for furniture and gives this piece an almost floating quality. Pure wood, no other materials, no compromise.
The Making of the Disco Side Table

Whether turned on a lathe or assembled from precision-cut disc sections, the stacked pedestal base of this table requires careful calibration at our Bangalore atelier. Each disc must be consistently sized, the gaps between layers must be uniform, and the final polish of each disc edge before assembly is the quality checkpoint that separates a good piece from an exceptional one.

Four to five horizontal disc sections in dark walnut create a layered pedestal — the shadow gap between each layer changes with the light, giving the table a different character from morning to evening.
Polished Calm
A flat circular top in the same dark walnut, polished to a semi-gloss — a clean, resolved surface in deliberate contrast to the sculptural base below.
