The bouclé was chosen specifically for its ability to hide seams — when you wrap a continuous curved form in a looped textile, the pile absorbs the construction lines and what you see is pure form. The disc caps on the arms were the last decision and the most important one: they prevent the piece from being only soft, only organic. They say someone designed this.

The Grey Curved Sofa is built over a shaped bent-plywood or steam-bent timber frame — the only way to achieve a back-to-arm arc that holds its curve without bracing. At our Bangalore atelier, the frame is made before the upholstery begins, and the bouclé is applied over the continuous curved surface by hands experienced in working around compound curves.
