The brass ring at the base of the shell is not a structural afterthought — it is the piece's defining detail. It does two things simultaneously: it connects the four legs laterally for rigidity, and it creates a horizontal gold band at the base of the upholstered body that makes the chair look like it has been placed in a setting, like a gem. The wraparound arms were designed to be low enough for comfortable dining while still providing that enveloping quality that makes a chair feel generous. The taupe upholstery was chosen for its complete versatility — it belongs at any dining table.
The Making of the Tazio Dining Chair

Wrapping a continuous barrel shell in smooth leather without visible stress wrinkles or seam misalignment at the curved arm-to-back transitions is a technically demanding exercise in our Bangalore atelier. This chair has been refined over multiple prototypes to achieve the clean, taut surface that the taupe leather demands.
The Wraparound Curve
Back and arms are upholstered as a single continuous barrel shell — no junction, no break, no seam visible from the front; the sitter is enveloped from shoulder to elbow.
The Brass Ring
A polished brass rail runs around the base of the upholstered shell, tying all four legs to the body and creating a continuous gold band that is both structural and jewellery-like.
Slender Brass
Four tapered polished brass legs hold the shell with deliberate delicacy — thin against the generous upholstered form above.
