Salvia Sofa — Austins Salvia Sofa - Austins

The sage green is neither safe nor predictable — it was chosen because it holds a room differently than grey, holds a decade better than beige, and holds your attention the first time you walk in.

I wanted the colour to do the work that most sofas leave to shape. Sage green in a smooth leather is not a colour that asks for approval — it has a point of view and is confident about it. The three-mechanism integration was the engineering challenge: each headrest had to move independently without affecting the adjacent seat, and the chrome feet had to carry that dynamic load with no visible compensation in the frame.

The Making of the Salvia Sofa

Designed by Harsha

At our Bangalore atelier, uniform sage-green leather is selected hide by hide for consistent tone across the full three-seater width. Three independent motion mechanisms are integrated into a segmented internal frame before the leather skin is applied — each mechanism's range of movement is mapped before the pattern is cut, so the leather flexes cleanly at every joint.

01

Sage Green Leather

A warm muted sage-green tone in smooth leather — neither bright nor grey-dominant, it is a sophisticated olive-sage that differentiates this sofa in any room and any market. ::

02

Leather Patterning Around Three Mechanisms

Each of three independent recliner mechanisms requires precise leather pattern-cutting around its movement range — the leather must flex at every headrest and seat joint without creasing across years of use. ::

03

Three Independent Motion Integration

Three separately operating recliner mechanisms in one continuous sofa body require a segmented internal frame engineered so each seat moves without affecting its neighbours — a mechanical precision achievement.

Frequently Asked

Before You Order

How long does it take to make the Salvia Sofa?
6–8 weeks from order confirmation. We build one piece at a time — frame first, then upholstery, then a final hand-finish — so the timeline reflects real bench-time, not warehouse stock.
Can I customise the dimensions, leather, or wood?
Yes. Almost every dimension can be adjusted within structural limits, and the leather and wood swatches shown are starting points — speak to a designer if you'd like us to source something specific.
How does delivery work, and where do you ship?
We deliver across India with white-glove placement included. International shipping is available on request — our team will coordinate freight, customs, and last-mile placement at the destination.
What does payment look like for a custom piece?
A 50% deposit confirms the order and reserves your build slot in the atelier. The balance is due before dispatch. We'll share a transparent quote with material and labour breakdown after the consultation.
What if something needs repair years from now?
Every piece carries a lifetime craftsmanship guarantee. Reupholstery, refinishing, and frame repair are handled in-house — a piece built today can be brought back to the workshop a decade from now and restored.
