Opera Chair — Austins Opera Chair - Austins

Navy. Quilted. Wide-legged. Proud.

"I wanted a chair that introduces itself to a room. The quilting came first — once you put that grid across the back and seat, everything else had to match its conviction. The wide wooden legs aren't an afterthought; they're the punchline. That chair knows exactly what it is."

The Making of the Opera Chair

Designed by Harsha

The Opera was designed to be the most confident chair in any room — deep navy leather quilted into chunky biscuit sections, standing on wide honey-wood block legs. A compact accent piece that earns every conversation it starts. Made in Bangalore.

01

Deep Navy Leather

A saturated deep navy leather covers both seat and back — rich, proud, and demanding consistent colour and sheen across every quilted panel and curved surface. ::

02

Grid Quilting Through Leather

Straight stitching lines run horizontally and vertically through leather and dense foam, creating a symmetrical grid of raised biscuit cells — demanding precision alignment across the curved barrel back. ::

03

Wide Block Leg Joinery

The wide solid wood block legs are securely mortised to the base frame — the visual boldness of the legs requires equally robust structural attachment to handle dynamic seating loads.

Frequently Asked

Before You Order

How long does it take to make the Opera Chair?
6–8 weeks from order confirmation. We build one piece at a time — frame first, then upholstery, then a final hand-finish — so the timeline reflects real bench-time, not warehouse stock.
Can I customise the dimensions, leather, or wood?
Yes. Almost every dimension can be adjusted within structural limits, and the leather and wood swatches shown are starting points — speak to a designer if you'd like us to source something specific.
How does delivery work, and where do you ship?
We deliver across India with white-glove placement included. International shipping is available on request — our team will coordinate freight, customs, and last-mile placement at the destination.
What does payment look like for a custom piece?
A 50% deposit confirms the order and reserves your build slot in the atelier. The balance is due before dispatch. We'll share a transparent quote with material and labour breakdown after the consultation.
What if something needs repair years from now?
Every piece carries a lifetime craftsmanship guarantee. Reupholstery, refinishing, and frame repair are handled in-house — a piece built today can be brought back to the workshop a decade from now and restored.
