Leo Chair — Austins Leo Chair – Austins

Abstract watercolour print. High wingback. Dark tapered legs. The Leo transforms the space in which it is placed.

The watercolour print is not applied randomly — the pattern placement on the seat and back panels has to be considered so the motifs flow naturally across the transitions. A patterned wingback is a different upholstery challenge from a plain one; the fabric needs to read coherently, not interrupted, from every sitting angle.

The Making of the Leo Chair

Designed by Harsha

The Leo Chair begins with the conviction that furniture has the power to transform a space — and it commits fully to that idea by choosing an abstract watercolour-print as its defining material. The high wingback silhouette gives the chair authority; the blue teal print gives it life. Together, they make a chair worth placing in a room that matters.

01

Abstract Watercolour Print

Blue and teal watercolour-motif fabric requires careful pattern placement during cutting — the flowing motifs must read coherently across seat and back panels without awkward truncation at the seams or wing transitions. ::

02

Pattern Alignment Around Wings

Upholstering a high wingback in a directional patterned fabric requires skilled alignment as the fabric rounds the wing transitions and up the back — pattern flow must appear natural, not strained, through every change of plane. ::

03

Wingback Frame Under Use

The tall wingback internal frame maintains the wing panel geometry through regular use; dark tapered leg joints at the four base corners are precision-fitted to eliminate flex and keep the chair steady for years.

Frequently Asked

Before You Order

How long does it take to make the Leo Chair?
6–8 weeks from order confirmation. We build one piece at a time — frame first, then upholstery, then a final hand-finish — so the timeline reflects real bench-time, not warehouse stock.
Can I customise the dimensions, leather, or wood?
Yes. Almost every dimension can be adjusted within structural limits, and the leather and wood swatches shown are starting points — speak to a designer if you'd like us to source something specific.
How does delivery work, and where do you ship?
We deliver across India with white-glove placement included. International shipping is available on request — our team will coordinate freight, customs, and last-mile placement at the destination.
What does payment look like for a custom piece?
A 50% deposit confirms the order and reserves your build slot in the atelier. The balance is due before dispatch. We'll share a transparent quote with material and labour breakdown after the consultation.
What if something needs repair years from now?
Every piece carries a lifetime craftsmanship guarantee. Reupholstery, refinishing, and frame repair are handled in-house — a piece built today can be brought back to the workshop a decade from now and restored.
