Yellow velvet on a wingback is a commitment. There is nowhere to hide — the colour fills the room and the tall back fills the wall behind it. We chose mustard rather than primary yellow because mustard has warmth and depth; it photographs beautifully and it ages well in the light. The ear wings were kept prominent because they are the defining feature of the wingback form — rounding them off would have been a compromise. The dark espresso legs are there to ground all that yellow and prevent the chair from floating visually. Top-notch quality in every stitch and joint, because a chair this visible demands it.
