The diagonal ribbed panel on the arm face was the moment this sofa became what it is. A straight ribbed panel would have been too expected. Setting it at 45 degrees — and framing it in two thin brass strips — makes the arm face look like a piece of applied art. The bespoke leg design followed from that logic: if the arms are this considered, the legs must be equally so. The angled front leg with a horizontal brass crossbar is a piece of furniture art in itself. When everything else in the room is white, brass is the only accent you need.

Setting a ribbed panel at a precise 45-degree diagonal and flush-fitting two brass inlay strips around it is one of the most technically demanding details in our Bangalore atelier's portfolio. The angle must be exact on both arm panels for the sofa to read symmetrically; the brass strips must sit flush with the fabric face without proud edges or gaps. This is the work of skilled hands and patient refinement.
