Treccia Side Table — Austins Treccia Side Table - Austins

The rope was wound by hand, one cord at a time, until the surface was too dense for light to pass through — then the light was placed at the edges, where it could matter most.

The material tension in this piece is everything — the raw, tactile density of the rope winding against the stripped-back precision of the gold T-bar top. I wanted it to feel like something you'd find in an artisan's studio and a luxury hotel on the same day. The triple lighting effect was discovered in prototyping: top, base, and the way the wound surface catches the spill between them.

The Making of the Treccia Side Table

Designed by Harsha

At our Bangalore atelier, the rope-winding is completed over an internal core that already contains the LED wiring — cables are routed before the first strand is placed, so the result is a surface with no interruptions. The teal comes from a natural or closely matched dye applied to the cord before winding begins.

01

Rope-Wound Teal Cylinder

Dense natural rope or cord winding in deep teal covers the cylindrical body in a surface so tactile it demands to be touched — the colour is warm and saturated, the texture directional and disciplined. ::

02

Cord-Winding Craft

Even, gap-free rope winding around a cylindrical form is a labour-intensive hand technique — the absence of kinks, gaps, or uneven spacing is the measure of the artisan's skill. ::

03

Internal LED Routing

LED wiring is routed through the cylinder core before winding begins — invisible cables, invisible conduit, visible light. A construction sequence that cannot be reversed.

Frequently Asked

Before You Order

How long does it take to make the Treccia Side Table?
6–8 weeks from order confirmation. We build one piece at a time — frame first, then upholstery, then a final hand-finish — so the timeline reflects real bench-time, not warehouse stock.
Can I customise the dimensions, leather, or wood?
Yes. Almost every dimension can be adjusted within structural limits, and the leather and wood swatches shown are starting points — speak to a designer if you'd like us to source something specific.
How does delivery work, and where do you ship?
We deliver across India with white-glove placement included. International shipping is available on request — our team will coordinate freight, customs, and last-mile placement at the destination.
What does payment look like for a custom piece?
A 50% deposit confirms the order and reserves your build slot in the atelier. The balance is due before dispatch. We'll share a transparent quote with material and labour breakdown after the consultation.
What if something needs repair years from now?
Every piece carries a lifetime craftsmanship guarantee. Reupholstery, refinishing, and frame repair are handled in-house — a piece built today can be brought back to the workshop a decade from now and restored.
