The stone top was chosen for its colour before anything else. Pale blue marble at dining-table scale is extraordinary — it makes the light in the room behave differently, colder and more crystalline above the surface. The U-shaped pedestal base in high-gloss walnut was designed to match the drama of the stone without competing with it — a sculptural form that complements the slab from below. The chairs bring the warmth back: beige at the front for comfort, cognac at the outer back for character. When you see the chairs from the end of the room, the cognac backs create a warm rhythm that balances the cool stone.

Stone fabrication and furniture making are two distinct crafts that must come together perfectly in this set. Our Bangalore atelier coordinates the stone cutting and polishing with our cabinetmaking team to ensure the slab arrives at the correct dimensions and edge profile before the base is assembled around it. The U-shaped base is veneered in high-gloss walnut over a precisely jointed panel structure that must support the full weight of the stone without flex.
